Historic 25th Anniversary Benefit

On September 24th, 2023, friends of the Canons Regular of Saint John Cantius gathered with priests and brothers of the order for the historic 25th Anniversary Benefit Dinner. The night was celebrated with a beautiful meal, lively entertainment, and one another’s company all with the cause of supporting the mission of Restoring the Sacred.

The members of the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius thank those in attendance for their ongoing support as well as those whose efforts made the evening a success, especially Ms. Delphine Michalik, who received the Silver Rose in honor of her numerous years of dedication and service spent towards our annual benefit. We would also like to thank our wonderful benefit committee who spent countless hours preparing for this historic event! Another special thanks to Mr. Justin Sheffield of Ashland Addison Florist for the beautiful table arrangements. Finally, thank you to Mrs. Esther Jula of EsteeG Photography and Mr. Damian Chalanda of Coffee with Damian for the beautiful photos from the evening.

“Our founder, Fr. Phillips could never have imagined what would become of the small group of men when he said “Yes” to what the Holy Spirit was inspiring.

This celebration is also about each and every one of you, because without your response to the Holy Spirit, and your generosity, we would not be where we are today. Your presence here this evening, your prayers, and your contributions are a very real sign of your love for Our Lord and His Church,” shared Very Rev. Joshua S. Caswell, SJC, Superior General, Canons Regular of St. John Cantius.

Bishop Joseph N. Perry’s presence was especially meaningful to the brothers and priests of the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius as His Excellency has recently retired as Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago in Vicariate VI, we thank him for his many years of dedicated service to the people of Chicago and for his continuous support of our community. We would also like to thank 27th Ward Alderman, and Vice-Mayor of Chicago, Walter Burnett, Jr. and his wife, Darlena Williams-Burnett, were also in attendance and we thank them for their support.

All of your contributions, large or small, are greatly appreciated and will continue to help us support our men in formation as we continue our mission to Restore the Sacred.
