"Desiring His Presence"

Our 2019 concert tour series is entitled “Desiring His Presence”, which includes the works from Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schoenfield, and Halvorson. This program highlights Beethoven and Mendelssohn’s late piano trio, with contemporary repertoire named “Cafe Music” by American composer Schoenfield. Both Beethoven and Mendelssohn composed these works with divine inspiration. We will explore the link between spiritual inspiration and the compositions. This program welcomes both children and adults to enjoy the story we present.

Biography

The Estampe Trio is a rising chamber group in Midwest area. Formed in the Fall of 2016 by Yeonwoo Seo (cello), Eunjeong Choi (violin), and Mickey Chien (piano) in University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, The Estampe Trio has been playing series of recitals in Peoria, Carbondale, and Champaign, IL, since 2016. The original idea of the piano trio “Estampe” was to enhance the knowledge of chamber music literature. Estampe trio pursues to make classical music more appealing and accessible to the audiences. They aim to connect audiences to music and performers through creative and various repertoire and presentation of performances. In 2016-2018, they reached a variety of audiences throughout different venues across the state. Presenting wide range of repertoire including the composers that surround us today, the chamber group contribute to the development of art and support the new composition to see the light of the world.
