Classes - Biblical Hebrew

St. John Cantius’ language classes begin again soon. If you have always wanted a deeper appreciation of our Church’s languages and heritage, now is your chance to begin or to continue your study of the language and history of the Church.

The classes below begin with the Fall Semester and continue with the Spring Semester except where indicated below.

Fall Semester: Classes start September 15, 2019 and end December 15, 2019

Spring Semester: Classes start January 15, 2020 and end June 15, 2020.

All classes meet on Sundays in the Canonry at 1025 W. Fry St., Chicago, IL. Enter the building from the south door between the Canonry and the Church (there is no entry directly from the street).

Registration is on the first day of class. If you would like to join the class after September 15, please contact the instructor.

 

HEBREW (ACCELERATED)
Instructor: Richard Rodriguez
Classes start September 15

For the serious student interested in acquiring a detailed grasp of Biblical Hebrew grammar.  The course will be fast-paced, covering approximately 1-2 chapters per week plus exercises.  Please contact the instructor for prior recommendations.

The textbook is Introducing Biblical Hebrew by Allen Ross.

Classes will be held from 9.00 a.m. – 10.00 a.m.

The cost is $50.00 for the class. Students may purchase a copy of the textbook for $50.00.

 

BIBLICAL HEBREW CONTINUED

Classes start September 15. Fall session only.

For the student with some previous knowledge of biblical Hebrew.  We will continue to work through the textbook to cover the major forms and structures of basic grammatical categories. The textbook is Introducing Biblical Hebrew by Allen Ross.

Classes will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
