Good Friday - Holy Week 2010 at Saint John Cantius Church (60 images)
Fr. Brendan Gibson, SJC said the Service of
the Lord's Passion. Hundreds participated in the Veneration of the
Cross. Visiting religious included brothers from the Society of Jesus,
the Order of Saint Augustin, and sisters from the Missionaries of
Charity. Visiting seminarians were also in attendance. Relics from the
Holy Land were on display for veneration by the faithful. The sung St.
John Passion was composed by Lassus.
The St.
Cecilia Choir sang the Adoremus by Gallus, Crucem Tuam by Lukaszewski
(a contemporary Polish composer), the Improperia by Victoria, Crux
Fidelis by Bartolucci, and the Lamentations by Tallis.
