Holy Thursday - Holy Week 2010 at Saint John Cantius Church (73 images)
The
Holy Thursday Mass was celebrated by Fr. C. Frank Phillips, C.R., the
pastor of St. John Cantius Church and was concelebrated by priests of
the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius. The Mandatum (washing of the
feet) took place after the homily. The Blessed Sacrament was taken in
procession to the Holy Thursday Repository at the conclusion of the
Mass. After the Mass the traditional stripping and washing of the Altar
took place. Hundreds of parishioners and visitors kept vigil in prayer
through the night and venerated the relics of the Passion on display in
the Church.
The St. Cecilia Choir sang the Missa Spes Salutis by Clemens
non Papa as well as motets by Melgas, Palestrina, Ramish, and Willaert.
