Shrines of Tuscany & the Mezzogiorno

May 4-16, 2005

Few places on earth are as sweet and warmly welcoming as Tuscany in May, the month of Our Lady!

A wonderful faith-filled pilgrimage to the glorious region of Tuscany begins our 2005 calendar year. All friends, Spiritual Children and members of Padre Pio Prayer Groups are invited to join us. We will fly from Chicago to Florence, where, from our arrival on May 5th to the 8th, we will visit Santa Maria del Fiore, the Uffizi Galleries, the Academia and the Pitti Palace. There will be plenty of free time to explore the beautiful city that gave birth to the Renaissance. As always, the celebration of Holy Mass will highlight every day.

From our base in Florence, we will make day trips to Pisa and to the medieval masterpeice of Siena, home of St. Catherine and St. Bernardino. We’ll also visit the hill town of Montepulciano, home of St. Robert Bellarmine and the church of San Biagio, jewel of the Renaissance. We will also explore San Gimignano, with its medieval towers, and Orvieto, birthplace of the Feast of Corpus Christi.

Then on to Montecassino, the abbey of St. Benedict and resting place of his holy sister, St. Scholastica.

May 10th and 11th will focus on Padre Pio’s home town, Pietrelcina, and very special events in San Giovanni Rotondo, his shrine. The Grotto of St. Michael, Archangel will also highlight our visit to the Mezzogiorno, as this region of Italy is called.

On our way to Rome on May 12th, we will offer Mass at the Shrine of the Eucharistic Miracle in Lanciano. Our last three days in Rome, May 13, 14 and 15, will be filled with several new and some always beloved sights and experiences. We’ll return to Chicago from Rome on May 16th.

Holy Shrines of France

Autumn - 2004

Join us as a pilgrim to the Holy Shrines of France in September of 2004! By November of 2003, we will have firm and final details on the cost and itinerary, but we hope to encourage you to begin to plan and save for this spiritual adventure. A year goes by very quickly, but we find that a year’s advance notice helps people plan vacation time and begin to save for these wonderful pilgrimages.

This exquisite 12-day tour will allow you to experience the holy places which are so intimately identified with many of the Church’s greatest Saints: Bernadette, John Vianney, Catherine Laboure, Margaret Mary, Vincent DePaul and Therese, the Little Flower. A special stop will be made to venerate the major relics of St. Mary Magdalen, patroness of Penitents.

We will visit the palaces of Popes and of the Sun King and view Paris from Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. We will visit Toulouse, Lourdes, Lisieux, Nevers, Carcassone, Ars, Avignon, Vezelay, Versailles and Paris. Plan now to join us!
