First Annual St. John’s Ball

Be transported back to an era of chivalry and wonder. A full orchestra will set the soundtrack with the backdrop of Chicago’s historic Cultural Center—the official reception venue for Presidents, royalty, and diplomats from around the world.

Quo Vadis Young Adults of St. John Cantius Church will host the inaugural St. John’s Ball, on Friday, June 23rd, the eve of the Feast of St. John the Baptist—an unforgettable night of culture and dance.

Most Catholic cultures throughout history have commemorated St. John’s Eve which closely coincides with the Midsummer solstice.  Typically, bonfires or other festivities are held to mark the brightest days and the coming shortening of days which were mirrored by St. John’s own words, “He must increase, but I must decrease”.  St. John’s Ball thus commemorates, in a long line of tradition, a grandiose night of celebration.
