Join the Patrons of Sacred Music on Saturday, February 18 at 6 pm in the church hall (lower level) to hear Margaret Stoltz, Mezzo-Soprano, followed by a wine and cheese reception. Stoltz, a recent graduate from the masters program at DePaul University, she is an Associate Member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus. Stoltz will sing music by Schumann, Rossini, Gounod, Canteloube, Ireland and Quilter. Steven Mosteller, pianist, will accompany Stoltz on the program. Mosteller made his New York City Opera debut in 1993 conducting the original 1904 version of Madama Butterfly. A conductor at City Opera for fifteen seasons, he has conducted at both the State Theater and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center and served as Music Director for the Festival de Otoño in Madrid, Spain. He joined DePaul’s faculty in 2010 as Associate Professor of Opera and Music Director of DePaul Opera Theatre. The program will feature a restored 12 foot Mason and Hamlin grand piano which has been recently acquired.
