The ‘Crusaders for Life’ is a youth-led grassroots movement of pro-life youth from Chicago and beyond. The Crusaders understand that the biggest tools to conquer the culture of death are prayer and love. They have especially become known for their spirited and joyful enthusiasm and signature yellow ‘Life Balloons’ which have become an international symbol of the joy of the pro-life movement. The Crusaders are committed to educating themselves on all life issues in order to defend life with confidence and conviction.

Although not officially an organization of St. John Cantius Parish, the Crusaders originally involved youth from Saint John Cantius Church (Chicago) and Saint Peter’s Church (Volo), but has expanded to other cities including: Downers Grove, IL; Danbury, CT; and Detroit; MI.

This January the Crusaders will not be travelling to the National March for Life in DC, but will participate in a number of pro-life Marches in neighbouring states in the coming week.

Statement from the Crusaders for Life website:
On Friday, January 20th, the Crusaders for Life will depart from Chicago to begin a three day "LIFE Tour" in the Midwestern US—participating in local pro-life events in Springfield, St. Louis, and Indianapolis.

In our 10th year, the Crusaders for Life believe that a local emphasis in America's heartland will allow for the greatest utilization of our resources. Therefore, however, we will be unable to attend the National March for Life in Washington, DC.

We wish the March for Life the greatest success and will pray with and for all marching on Friday, January 27. We also ask all those who will be in Washington, DC, to take up the challenge of being fully present with the love, joy, and enthusiasm that our LIFE Balloons have come to represent.

Sincerely in Christ,
Annie Streeter, President
Maggie Dietz, Vice-President
Darrell Streeter, Secretary
Anthony Chapello, Treasurer"
