About the Director

Stephanie Martin is professor of music in the School for Arts, Media, Performance and Design at York University in Toronto, Canada.

Formerly director of music at the historic church of Saint Mary Magdalene, and conductor of Pax Christi Chorale, she now focusses her creative energies on writing music, especially for choirs and orchestra. She has been commissioned by choirs across Canada, the USA and Europe. Visit her website at http://www.stephaniemartinmusic.com for works and upcoming events.

About the Choir

Schola Magdalena, now celebrating 10 years together, is a group of six women devoted to singing liturgical music of the middle ages and modern period. Their two CDs are available on iTunes and after the concert today.

Resident ensemble at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Toronto, they frequently tour in Canada, giving workshops and concerts. They are very grateful to Fr Scott and the parish of St John Cantius for their hospitality in hosting us this weekend in Chicago. Visit our website at http://www.scholamagdalena.ca
